The Importance of Regular AED Health Checks
- Regular AED maintenance is critical to ensure devices work in emergencies, Defib Machines guarantees full servicing and compliance
- Every AED is rigorously tested before installation and on a regular schedule, maintaining a 100% operational record
- The recent HeartSine recall shows why health checks are vital, with Defib Machines customers unaffected due to proactive testing
It is a sad fact that many AEDs are simply installed and left without a proper maintenance schedule, which can mean that when the device is needed in a critical event, it may not be functioning correctly.
When you rent an AED with Defib Machines, this is not the case. All our AED rental packages include device maintenance and servicing schedules as standard – so you can be confident that your AEDs are always fully functional.
Frequent AED Servicing & Testing Schedules
Our 100% operational device record has not been broken since our company launched. We know for a fact that every single AED that we’ve installed across the nation is in full working order thanks to our tracking systems and regular, scheduled servicing. When you take out an AED rental package with us, you’re not just investing in critical health and safety infrastructure – you’re investing in the best operational standards and complete peace of mind.
All AEDs issued by Defib Machines undergo rigorous testing, both when we receive the device from the manufacturer, and before each device is sent out to a customer. Additionally, our maintenance package means that any AED rented through us is fully checked to the highest operational and compliance standards on a regular basis – including checking for any recalls.
AED recalls
AED manufacturers take safety extremely seriously, and equipment recalls are rare.
If you have a HeartSine device, you will recently have received an email explaining that a voluntary recall has been issued for a limited number of machines. The recall applies specifically to a circuit board component that is responsible for the delivery of vocal prompts that provide instructions for correct device usage.
Businesses and establishments that rent an AED through us can enjoy complete peace of mind that they are unaffected by the recall, because we test every single device before it gets sent out and installed. In this case, we’ve conducted a complementary AED test for all HeartSine customers to verify that the device is in full working order and consistent with our historical testing records.
If you don’t rent an AED with us and what to see if your HeartSine device is affected by the recall, you can either:
- Arrange an AED health check to see if your HeartSine device is affected by the recall
- Trade in your existing device for a full coverage device
- See if your device is eligible for our Buy Back Service
The importance of AED health checks
In the HeartSine case, it is fortunate that the fault was discovered during internal testing, and not in an emergency situation. However, it is a sobering reminder of how vital AED maintenance schedules are.
